80% Percentile

Dr. Seeker apparently had a LOT of babies to deliver on Tuesday and his schedule was all out of whack! Our appointment was at 3:30 and we finally went back to the room about 5:30 - no joke! Good thing I really like the doctor.

The ultrasound was really cool, but the office kept most of the really good pictures for my file. They printed off a few that we need to scan in, but the pictures don't do justice to what we saw on the screen. We could see all four chambers of the heart beating, the spine, ribcage, fingers, elbows, you name it. I have to say it really is a cool technology. Dr. Seeker took some measurements of the baby's head and from head to tush and then asked if either Greg or I were big babies... I know I wasn't -- I was pretty much average, right down the middle. Greg remembers being relatively big, but Yvonne didn't seem to think that Greg was as big as Greg thinks he was. I'll have to confer with Rhonda too to see if she has any memory. According to the measurements, baby Baden is in the 80% percentile for size so far indicating a pretty good sized baby. This of course does NOT help with my mental image of trying to squeeze a watermelon out a hole the size of a lemon! But, what are you going to do? There's still plenty of time... AND, my cousin's doctor told her that Zoe was much bigger than she was... so there's still hope for a nice 7 pounder. I know they do tend to grow them big in Texas, but for once I'm okay with average!

It's also been fun being pregnant with my friend Amy and my coworker Autumn. The three of us are do within days of each other, so we have lots to talk about. Amy is the only one of us with experience -- but she's been a little busy lately planning a wedding. so we haven't talked as much as we'd like. The wedding by the way is this weekend and looks to be a blast. When we last talked Amy's daughter Emma was quite excited to see Aunt Jen for the weekend - yipee! She is such a cutie patootie. I think she's going to be an excellent big sister.

I promise to get tons of pictures this weekend while out with all my friends! Promise!!

16 Week Check-Up Today

OK, I've been delinquent. I know. Here are the first few ultrasound pictures. I do have a couple pictures of my belly -- but I'm not fully dressed in them and I think I look more like a pudgy blob than a glowing pregnant woman in them, so I'm not sure I want to share! Some of this of course could be Greg's photography skills, but don't tell him!!

I should have another sonogram this afternoon and perhaps that means more In The Womb pictures!! These are from my first appointment on January 14, 2008:

This is the gorilla face shot... I think the doctor was a *little too zoomed in for this one! This one was really cool, because I could actually see the little fingers moving around!
This last one is from my 12 week appointment. If you tilt your head to the right, you can see the outline of Baby Baden's face. (It took me a while to see it too... but now I see it right away)!

Alright friends and family... that's it for now. I'll try to get some more pictures (good ones) that I don't mind sharing soon!

The Cat is Out of the Bag

Well, it's official. I'm pregnant. :-) Family and friends know. Work knows. Greg's classmates know. And... well we couldn't have kept a secret much longer anyhow, I'm starting to sport that oh so popular "baby-bump" look. Granted, Jessica Alba looked way hotter than I do, but what can you do? Tomorrow will mark 15 weeks. My next appointment is on the 26th where we'll have another sonogram. I was able to get a late afternoon appointment so Greg will be able to attend and see too. We're excited.

There's been a lot going on lately, but mostly just living life. I went to the movies with a couple of Greg's classmates, Raija and Sandra to see 27 Dresses. It could be the hormones.... but in a weird way, it makes me want to get married again. I know, I'm nuts - but it was fun.

We also went to our first UT Basketball game on Monday night against Kansas Jayhawks. While I'm normally not a basketball fan, it was a good game, and we won which always helps the spirits. Sandra, a Kansas alum, was not too pleased with the Longhorn win... but we'll turn her into a Longhorn yet.

Well, my brief lunch break is coming to a close. More updates on Greg's law meet & greets and interviews, etc coming soon!
