Insomnia? Me?

Never, ever in my life have I had trouble falling asleep. Normally, I can close my eyes standing up and fall aslepp... and yet, here I find myself at 5 am completely awake. Granted, I've been coughing up a lung for the past hour which may have something to do with it, but I don't even feel tired. That's weird.

I'm feeling wheezy and like my head is full of snot and my throat has been attacked with a cheese grater... but sleepy, no. I'm not even quite sure what to do with myself at this unusual hour. Do I go ahead and take a hot shower to see if it clears my head? Do I get dressed and go to the 24 hour Walgreens to find some sort of pregnancy approved cough medicine? Do I lay back down and try not to wake Greg with my wheezing and coughing for another couple hours?

This getting sick bit sucks. I haven't been sick in a long time.... and getting sick while pregnant is like some sort of cruel joke because all you can take is Tylenol. I think bebe Baden is tired of all the coughing too. Pretty calm bebe - not much moving and shaking around down there -- guess I'm doing enough of that by coughing every few minutes. I did go to the CareNow clinic yesterday in Plano. The strep test came back negative, which I suppose is a good thing -- but that still leaves the question, what the **** is making me feel like I've been run over by a truck? And when will it stop?

Ok, I'm going to attempt to go to bed until at least 7. We'll see how it goes. If I can't fall asleep, I guess it means I start work a little early today!

Awwwww......

Taken by my friend Rachel at the Marina at Atlantis on March 12, 2008

Ok, Ok....

A couple photos of my growing buddah belly..... Next time we take a photo, I promise to take the photo after the shower and make-up!

Here, I just look pudgy... 13 weeks along.

This was in in Houston, TX. We went for a weekend to attend my friend Amy's wedding. 17 weeks

The most recent photo, taken March 22, 2008...20 weeks

We're going to try and take pictures more frequently now that we've passed the halfway mark. The belly bulge has begun! I am the buddah belly. Well, actually Baby Baden is the REAL buddah belly. And baby is starting to wiggle around and throw some left jabs. Hopefully you'll be able to feel them on the "outside" soon!

Happy Birthday Greg!

Short post now...

We're heading to Polvo's with some of Greg's friends and classmates to celebrate his 34th birthday! I would really like a margarita, but alas... I get to play designated driver once again! Good thing he loves me! :-) And good thing he picked a Tex-Mex restaurant... YUMM.

I'll try to convince everyone to take a few pictures while we're out. That will give me even more of a reason to free them from the camera later this weekend and update all these posts!

And We're Back

Well, well, well... we had quite the adventure getting to Paradise and getting home! Now I know why we normally fly DIRECT! What happened to Atlanta? Snow, tornados - sheesh!

The quick recap (sans photos):

- Sit on the tarmac at DFW
- Get off the plane
- Get back on the plane
- Sit in Atlanta
- Finally make it to the Riu in Paradise Island
- Yell - blah blah to the overcast windy weather for a couple days
- Look at the fishies at Atlantis
- Poorly apply sunscreen and end up with some splotchy sunburns
- Sit in the shade for a few days
- Attempt to save a drunk college student from alcohol poisoning by feeding him water
- Argue with the folks at the straw market - get some pretty fair deals
- Eat, eat, eat
- Read, read, read
- Sit in the shade, play in the water
- Pack
- Sit at the Nassau airport
- Sit on the plane
- Hear announcement that there's no fuel on the entire island
- Sit on plane
- Sit in Atlanta
- Make it to Dallas
- Make it back home.

Whew.

Pictures of Paradise Island and of Greg and I hanging out with my friends Rachel and Adam as soon as I free them from the digital camera!

Seriously....

What is up with this wacky ass weather? It was icky nasty gross weather on my DART right home. A few days ago, it was record breaking highs in Austin - literally it hit low 90's at the Austin airport! Today however, the complete opposite. The joys of wandering downtown Dallas and waiting for an uber packed train with a 25 pound backpack on my back, an umbrella that does not want to stay right-side out because of the wind, puddles to jump over, and slosh through....ahhh, what fun.

The good news. In 48 hours, I'll be in the Bahamas.

Ok... so I haven't added any captions yet, but here are a few photos from this past weekend. I have not done any editing yet for red eye, bad light, etc... but, I did manage to get the pictures off the camera!!

Laughter is the Best Medicine

I must be one of the luckiest girls ever. Seriously. I have great friends. This weekend one of my best friends from college, Amy Abramczyk aka Abramowitz, got married. Spending two days with all my old college buddies was the best therapy. There were many moments that caused tears of laughter.... and yes, we all took hundreds of photos. I'm on the laptop now, but I'll upload them all to the other computer later tonight. And I'll warn you -- we may look like a bunch of 30 something year olds doing really dumb things in a lot of the pictures -- and that's a pretty accurate representation of the weekend. But man oh man was it fun...
