Heart Healthy

Yesterday, I took Atti to the cardiologist to check out a heart murmur. Good news. The doc felt it's an innocent murmur - absolutely nothing to worry about. He says you don't technically "grow out" of murmurs... but that it may not always exist. Atti was a champ during the entire appointment (note to self - schedule all appointments around the 2pm nap time). He slept through an EKG, had his blood pressure checked (I didn't write this info down - but it was totally normal), his oxygen level checked (100%), and then he went for a full heart ultrasound. He slept through the entire thing! Figures - I swear he's still screaming when he's home, but he shows off for the doctors, I'm convinced. Oh... he was also weighed and measured. This kid is growing like a weed! He weighed in at 8lbs and 4oz and whopping 24 inches! Ummm, someone apparently forgot to tell him that he has plenty of time to grow - Momma needs some time to build up her arm muscles before he gets too gigantic! (I'm now really glad that Greg and I went with the "large" size for the infant carrier. The normal is rated to 22lbs and the large is up to 30lbs. Can you imagine a 30lb one year old - YIKES!!)

The other crazy thing - Greg and I are on the cutting edge of baby names. I know, who would have thought? The doc we saw yesterday came in all excited that our baby was an Atticus. Apparently, he just saw another infant last Friday that was also named Atticus. Nutty! Add that to the fact that two friends in California know folks with Atticus's and my coworker Kaylane has a friend that just used Atticus as a middle name... it's suddenly gaining in popularity it seems. We're such trendsetters.
